Warnock has consolidated support, outraised the field every quarter since entering the race and made it competitive, and positioned himself as a defender of health care as the Georgia Senate special election barrels toward the finish line
Atlanta, GA – Today, with 100 days until the November 3rd general election, U.S. Senate candidate and Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church Reverend Rapahel Warnock is in a commanding position for the Georgia Senate special election. Later today, he will join hundreds of volunteers and supporters for a virtual campaign kickoff event with special appearances from Senators Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren to learn more about how they can get involved with the campaign and flip Georgia blue.
As his opponents have supported efforts over and again to strip health care from millions of Georgians in the middle of a pandemic and leave working families in a lurch, Warnock has centered his campaign on a promise to expand access to quality, affordable, health care in the Senate, as well as ensuring fair wages and protecting voting rights.
“I’m honored by the enthusiasm people around the state have shown for the change my candidacy represents. We cannot continue to have leaders looking out for themselves while giving in to the narrow impulses of hatred and bigotry. Georgians need a senator who will fight for working families and their healthcare. This campaign honors that promise,” said Reverend Warnock.
Key Campaign Highlights:
- Warnock has outraised every candidate in the Georgia Senate special election every quarter since being in the race, and pulled in more money than Senator Kelly Loeffler and Congressman Doug Collins combined in Q2.
- Recent polling has shown Warnock within the margin of error of both Loeffler and Collins, and leading both in runoff scenarios – with zero paid media.
- He has consolidated support in Georgia and nationally, earning the backing of the majority of the Georgia’s Democratic State Senators and Representatives and 30 United States Senators.
- Hundreds of volunteers and supporters have joined Team Warnock.
- Campaign has begun laying out resources to communicate Warnock’s message with voters across the state in its first TV reservations.
The Warnock for Georgia campaign also released a memo at the beginning of the third quarter outlining where the race stands – hint: Warnock is the leading candidate. View a comprehensive State of the Race and overview of Warnock’s momentum here.
In the final 100 Days of the election, the Warnock campaign will continue contrasting his record of advocating for the right to health care with his top Republian opponents’ leadership failures and consistent efforts to undermine health care for Georgians and other protections.
About Reverend Warnock
Reverend Raphael Warnock grew up in Kayton Homes public housing in Savannah. Fourteen years ago, he was chosen to serve as Senior Pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, the former pulpit of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He is only the fifth Senior Pastor in the history of the church and the youngest pastor ever selected to serve in that position. Reverend Warnock believes his service does not stop at the church door, and has been an advocate to expand health care coverage and to ensure hardworking Georgians can make a living wage. As Senator, Reverend Warnock will bring to Washington the concerns of struggling Georgia families who wonder why no one is looking out for them, and focus on fighting for quality, affordable health care, for the dignity of working people who are paid too little as our government works more for Wall Street, and to make sure every voice is heard.
