Reverend Warnock Is Leading The Fight to Lower Costs for Georgia Farmers, Support Rural Communities
Reverend Warnock Sits On The U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee
Atlanta, GA – Reverend Warnock, a member of the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee, is leading the fight to support Georgia agriculture, the state’s largest industry. In the Senate, Reverend Warnock is working to ensure Georgia farmers and farming families have the resources they need to keep food and produce on our tables and to keep our local economies strong.

BACKGROUND ON REVEREND WARNOCK’S WORK FOR GEORGIA FARMERS
- Reverend Warnock is leading the fight to lower energy costs for Georgia farmers and small businesses. Reverend Warnock is fighting to secure debt relief for Georgia’s small farms and farming families—an effort that would help 95 percent of all borrowers in Georgia receive full debt relief.
- Last month, Reverend Warnock visited a farm in Musella, Georgia to discuss his efforts to invest in farmer mental health, expand telehealth access in rural farming communities, and ensure farmers have the assistance they need to thrive. In the Senate, Reverend Warnock secured $10 million dollars in mental health resources for Georgia’s farmers.
- Reverend Warnock is fighting to reduce trade barriers for Georgia farmers, specifically Georgia’s pecan producers that face tariff rates as high as 36 percent when they try to export their products abroad. Reverend Warnock led a bipartisan effort with Senator Tommy Tuberville to lower tariffs for Georgia peanut farmers.
- Reverend Warnock is leading the fight to invest in Georgia’s rural communities, including securing $65 billion to expand rural broadband in the bipartisan infrastructure law.
