When Reverend Warnock said he was gonna cap the price on insulin I was so happy, because it was so needed. It doesn’t make sense that something that is so important to so many people—that it was out of their reach.
My name is Mattie England. I’ve been a nurse for over thirty-something years. After working in medicine for so long, when I needed insulin, I couldn’t get it. The price was sort of out of my reach on my retirement. I mean, you had to decide, “Am I gonna pay light bill today or am I going to get my insulin?”
Reverend Warnock said he was going to cap the cost of insulin, and he did. I’m voting for Reverend Warnock because I believe he’s a man of his word. I believe Reverend Warnock is going to be great for all of us, for all of Georgia.
ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND ON WARNOCK’S WORK TO LOWER HEALTH CARE COSTS FOR GEORGIANS:
- Reverend Warnock’s proposals to cap the cost of insulin at $35 per month for Georgians on Medicare and lower prescription drug costs for seniors were signed into law as part of the Inflation Reduction Act.
- The Inflation Reduction Act also includes health care savings for Georgians and finally gives Medicare the ability to negotiate drug prices on behalf of Georgia seniors, saving taxpayers billions and reducing the federal deficit.
- Reverend Warnock continues leading the fight to expand Medicaid, a measure that would expand access to affordable health care for 640,000 Georgians while creating 60,000 jobs.
