REMARKS AS PREPARED FOR DELIVERY: Reverend Warnock Delivers Remarks on Election Night in Atlanta
Atlanta, GA – Reverend Raphael Warnock addressed the crowd on Election Night in Atlanta.
Read the remarks as prepared below:
Good evening, Georgia! Or should I say good morning.
We aren’t sure if this journey is over tonight, or if there’s still a little work yet to do, but here’s what we do know – we know that when they’re finished counting the votes from today’s election that we are going to have received more votes than my opponent.
And we know that once again the people of Georgia showed up and said loud and clear that you want a Senator who’s going to do the work for Georgia. That you want someone who every day is going to wake up and work for all of Georgia. Who understands that we’re tied in a single garment of destiny and caught up in an inescapable network of mutuality, whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.
So I understand that at this late hour you may be tired, I may be a little tired, but whether it’s later tonight, or tomorrow, or four weeks from now, we will hear from the people of Georgia, the people who who have given me this great honor of representing you in the Senate, and we will move forward together.
I remain as committed to this work as I ever have been and I look forward to continuing on that journey together over the next six years.
God bless and keep the faith.
