Bianna Golodryga, CNN: “Well, this morning, early voting kicks off in Georgia. The state could play a key role in Democrats keeping the Senate. Raphael Warnock, seen here casting his early ballot last hour. He’s facing Republican Herschel Walker. Eva McKend joins me from Atlanta with more. The Senator just spoke after casting his ballot. What more did he say?”

Eva McKend, CNN: “Well, he said that a vote is a prayer, and he said that we should stop describing it as Election Day and instead as election season, and that mirrors what we’re hearing from Democrats here on the ground. Just really putting pressure on their voters to get out and vote early.”

Reverend Warnock delivered remarks at the Duluth “Walk to the Polls.”

Reverend Warnock: “There’s no question that small businesses are the heartbeat of our economy. […] The AAPI community punches way above its weight in the entrepreneurial space. And that’s something I understand and I’m focused on doing whatever I can, whether it’s strengthening the efforts of the small business administration or being creative about how we find ways for small businesses to get the capital they need in order to grow.”

The Atlanta Voice: Early voting is off to strong start as Democrats look to maintain momentum, avoid runoffs

  • Monday night inside the Georgia State University Student Center a packed crowd greeted Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock as he took the stage. Waving ‘Students for Warnock’ signs, the crowd broke out into cheers and applause.
  • “It’s the first day of early voting and you all sound like you’re ready to win this election,” Warnock said. Warnock (on stage) said of early voting, “I am encouraged by the turnout I am hearing about today but we need that to continue all the way to November 4. There’s too much at stake to wait until November 8.”
  • Warnock was the recipient of a strong early voting turnout during the January 2021 senatorial runoff but is looking to avoid having to do the same this time around. “I won the last time in a hard fought race I ran against the wealthiest member of Congress,” he remembered.
  • Following the rally at Georgia State University he wanted to further emphasize the importance of early voting. “We are no longer talking about Election Day, it’s election season and that begins right now,” he said.

In the evening, Reverend Warnock spoke about the importance of voting at the Black Man Lab in Atlanta, an intergenerational gathering of Black men working together to empower and inspire the next generation to positively transform the world.
