Debate Clip: Reverend Warnock Presses Herschel Walker on “Disturbing History of Violence”

In A New Interview From NBC, Walker Claimed “I Don’t Have Any Violence,” Repeated False Claims He Disclosed His Past in  Book

NBC: Walker’s “Memoir Did Not Include Accusations That He Pointed A Gun At Grossman’s Head And Threatened To Kill Her”

Atlanta, GA – Reverend Raphael Warnock pressed Herschel Walker to explain his disturbing pattern of violent behavior during last night’s debate, which Walker refused to show up for. Instead Walker repeated his lies about his troubling history in an interview with NBC News

In last night’s Atlanta Press Club Debate, Reverend Warnock asked Herschel Walker “about this disturbing history of violence that we’ve seen from him,” calling on him to explain “why he thinks he’s ready to represent the people of Georgia and if he’s ready to face up to this history of violence.”

Meanwhile, in yet another interview – this time with NBC News – Walker again refused to  explain his violent past, including when hepointed a gun” at his ex-wife’s head and threatened to kill her.”

Instead, he lied again, falsely claiming “everything is in my book” and “I’ve been very open in my book, so anyone else outside of my book is lying to you.” However, his book did not disclose his violent behavior. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Walker “dodges questions” about the disturbing conduct by “saying he addressed his behavior in his 2008 memoir, ‘Breaking Free,’…but the 264-page book never mentions violence directed at [his ex-wife],” and “in fact, it seems to suggest there were no altercations.” The report adds that “Walker’s failure to address the violence undermines his repeated claims of transparency.”

Walker has also failed to acknowledge that his pattern of threatening behavior continued after the publication of his 2008 memoir — which the Associated Press acknowledged contradicts “Walker’s assertion that he has long since been a changed person.”
