Atlanta, GA – This week, 74 national security leaders issued a letter endorsing Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Reverend Warnock, who is running against unelected Senator Kelly Loeffler, and fellow nominee Jon Ossoff, who is challenging Senator David Perdue.
The group, National Security Leaders for Georgia, formerly National Security Leaders for Biden, includes former Secretary of the Army Louis E. Caldera, former Under Secretary of Defense Frank Kendall, former Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, former Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, U.S. Air Force General (Ret.) Lloyd “Fig” Newton, and U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Alfred Rascon, a Medal of Honor recipient.
Their letter emphasizes Warnock’s commitment to Georgia’s servicemembers, veterans, and military families, reading:
“We are confident that Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff will support Georgia’s servicemembers, their families, and veterans — in the same way they have pledged to support all Georgians — with integrity, honesty, and selflessness. These qualities are not only critical to U.S. leadership but also are particularly needed in the U.S. Senate following the last four years of instability and degraded national security.”
