Lindsay Tuman, Fox 5 Atlanta: “Senator Warnock made a stop in Snellville, also speaking out against his challenger.”
Reverend Warnock: “You can’t just roll up out of bed one morning and decide to be a United States Senator, you have to know some stuff to do this job. And you have to know the people.”
Then, Reverend Warnock hosted a meet and greet in Grovetown.
Fox 54 Augusta: Incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock stops in Grovetown ahead of Election Day
- The countdown is on for Election Day. Saturday, Incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock stopped in Grovetown as a part of his ‘Get out the Vote’ bus tour.
- It’s a stop included in a series of visits across the Peach State to encourage voters to make their voices heard by casting their ballots.
- Warnock met with a crowd off of Horizon South Parkway. He urged people to vote and encouraged attendees to tell others to do the same.
- In his speech, Warnock said democracy is on the line in this election. He also emphasized supporting infrastructure, police, women’s abortions rights and veterans.
- FOX54 spoke exclusively with Warnock about his next priorities if re-elected.
- “I want to secure inexpensive insulin in a state where 11% of adults have diabetes. I also want to keep working at the federal level to finally coax Georgia, that is, its state leaders, to do what should’ve been done a long time ago – expand Medicaid.” said Warnock.
- Warnock hopes to create more opportunities for veterans. He aims to pass legislation that invests in domestic manufacturing and small business. Warnock also claims character separates him from his opponent.
- “If we can’t trust him to tell us the basic facts about his own life, why would we put our own lives and the lives of our children and families in his hands? Character matters. Herschel Walker is not only not ready to be in the senate, he’s not fit.” said Warnock.
- Sunday, Warnock will be in Savannah. He then heads to Columbus and Macon Monday.
Later that afternoon, Reverend Warnock hosted a canvass launch and knocked doors in Augusta.
Augusta Chronicle: ‘He’s with the people’: Sen. Raphael Warnock canvasses downtown Augusta homes
- Pierre Luke, 40, of Augusta had seen Sen. Raphael Warnock at an event when he was campaigning in 2020, and was surprised to see Warnock outside his house Saturday afternoon.
- Luke’s was one of a handful of residences the senator stopped at during his “War-Knocking” visit to downtown Augusta.
- Senator Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., canvases with Eelise Davis on Broad Street in downtown Augusta on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022. Sen. Warnock started his “War-knock” event by speaking with supporters before going to canvas.
- “I think connecting with the people on a regular basis is an important part of governing,” Warnock said. “I’ve been engaging the people of Georgia way before the campaign got going in earnest. I’ve spent many of my recesses either talking to farmers…or talking to small business owners, or people in the manufacturing region or just talking to ordinary folks.
- He started at the Richmond County Democratic Party HQ on the 400 block of Broad Street, where he was met by dozens of volunteers ready to spread his message. The sky was gloomy, having showered in the last hour, and the air was humid, but that didn’t deter the canvassers, who crowded into the office to hear Warnock speak before they hit the damp streets.
- Senator Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., addresses the crowd at the Richmond County Democratic Party office in downtown Augusta on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022. Sen. Warnock started his “War-knock” event by speaking with supporters before going to canvas.
- “The role that canvassers play is so very important. People get to hear from the candidates, but there’s nothing like hearing from your own neighbors,” he said. “Don’t underestimate the power of your voice.”
- After spilling out for a group photo in the parking lot, the volunteers were separated into smaller groups that fanned out across the area. He was driven to the 200 block of Broad Street, and walked from door-to-door with a young canvasser out of Chattahoochee Technical College, Eelise Davis.
- They had a list of houses to try, but they actually got a much bigger response from people who just saw him walking around, such as Luke. The two talked for several minutes, took a photo together, and Luke loved the whole experience. Similarly, a neighbor from a few houses down, Jackie Pingel, ran out to meet Warnock, told him “I can’t wait to vote for you!” and was incredibly excited to see him in the neighborhood.
- Across the street, Warnock met some of his youngest-ever supporters. One of them was Arian Walker, 2, who saw the senator from afar, waved, walked up to him, and gave hugs to Warnock and several members of his entourage, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. His grandmother, Tania Sapp, said Arian recognized Warnock from seeing him on TV and other media outlets.
- But he wasn’t the first. A few minutes earlier, a car had pulled to the side of the road with an unnamed woman driving and a young boy in the passenger seat. The boy shouted from the open window “I voted for you!” which made the group laugh.
- When asked about the experience, Warnock smiled and said “What can I say? I love the kids, and I love being on the trail” later adding that “I’m a dad; I’ve got a 6-year-old daughter and an almost 4-year-old son, and I know they are the brightest parts of my life. They keep me laughing, and they keep me grounded. They remind me why I do this work in the first place, and so, the kids can’t vote…but I always enjoy running into them on the trail.”
- Luke was another reminder for Warnock of why he does what he does. During their conversation, Luke talked about how, despite his age and the fact that he’s a small business owner, he cannot afford health insurance.
- “It’s people like that I’m thinking about when I insist that Georgia needs to expand medicaid,” Warnock said. “I’ve been doing a little canvassing the last two weekends in a row, and each time, I keep running into folks…that have no healthcare.”
- Luke said, to voice his personal problems and have them really heard by the senator, “I was already gonna vote for him, but that reinforced why I want to vote for somebody like that. He’s with the people.”

Bria Smith, WJBF Augusta: “Senator Warnock held a meet and greet in Grovetown before making his way to Broad Street where he visited local residents at their home.”
Reverend Warnock: “So I say build out the road and make it wide and make it long so that everybody can get to where they need to go, that’s what you hired me to do. I use my faith to bring people together, not to divide them. It is not for me a weapon, it’s a bridge.”
Bria Smith, WJBF Augusta: “Saturday evening, Senator Warnock spent time in Augusta knocking from door to door.”
Reverend Warnock: “The concerns of working people, the concerns of women, the concerns of our children. That’s what I do and I’m proud to do it for you every single day.”
