WATCH: Georgia Republican Senator Loeffler dodges questions on presidential election results
Atlanta, GA – Reverend Raphael Warnock issued the following statement after the Electoral College affirmed that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be the next President and Vice President of the United States:
“I once again congratulate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on becoming the next President and Vice President, which is made even more clear by today’s vote in the Electoral College—including votes cast by Georgia’s 16 electors. It is now time for Kelly Loeffler to finally do what she’s refused to do up until this point, and join me in recognizing President-Elect Biden and Vice President-Elect Harris’ victory in the November election.”
Reverend Warnock’s statement followed Georgia electors casting their votes for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and after the Georgia State Supreme Court denied a lawsuit from the Republican Party seeking to overturn the results of Georgia’s election. During last week’s debate, Senator Loeffler repeatedly dodged questions about the results of the presidential election and refused multiple times to acknowledge that President Donald Trump lost Georgia’s election.
