Warnock Campaign Challenges Walker To Finally Agree To Debates With Reverend Warnock
For Months, Walker Has Dodged Debates, A Complete Reversal From His Prior Commitment To Debate Warnock Any Day Of The Week
Atlanta, GA – Today, the Warnock for Georgia campaign is challenging Herschel Walker to quit the games and show whether he’s really ready to represent Georgia.
After Herschel Walker repeatedly claimed he was ready to debate, even going so far as to say Reverend Warnock should name the time and place, Walker has now done everything he can to avoid being forced to answer questions.
When Reverend Warnock agreed to participate in three traditional debates hosted by local media outlets Walker dodged for months and then went out of his way to say he would only participate in a different debate where the topics would be shared ahead of time.
Reverend Warnock will agree to participate in Walker’s preferred Savannah debate hosted by Nexstar provided:
- Walker agrees that candidates will not need to be provided with topics prior to the Nexstar debate.
- Walker in return agrees to at least one of the non-Savannah debates Reverend Warnock agreed to months ago: the Mercer University Center for Collaborative Journalism debate to be held in Macon on October 13 or the Atlanta Press Club debate on October 16.
“It’s time for Herschel Walker to stop playing games,” said Quentin Fulks, Warnock for Georgia campaign manager. “The job of a U.S. Senator isn’t one where you know the topics ahead of time or get a cheat sheet, and Herschel Walker shouldn’t need one to find the courage to walk on a debate stage. Reverend Warnock is hopeful that Herschel Walker will finally stop dodging debates and show voters if he’s really ready to represent Georgia.”
