Atlanta, GA – Reverend Raphael Warnock issued the following statement after Kelly Loeffler once again refused to acknowledge the results of the November election and suggested she may challenge President-Elect Biden’s win in Congress.
“After refusing for weeks to acknowledge the basic fact that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the election, Kelly Loeffler is now leaving the door open to challenging those results in Congress. That’s reckless and disrespectful of Georgia voters. The Electoral College voted and even Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has congratulated President-Elect Biden and Vice President-Elect Harris. It’s time for Senator Loeffler to stop putting her personal politics ahead of what’s best for our country and accept the results of the November election.”
Reverend Warnock’s statement follows Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell’s acknowledgement of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ victory in the November election, and reports that Senate Republican leaders have urged Kelly Loeffler and her Republican colleagues not to object to the November election results, saying “isn’t in the best interest of everybody.” During the December 6 debate, Senator Loeffler repeatedly dodged questions about the results of the presidential election and refused multiple times to acknowledge that President Donald Trump lost Georgia’s election.
